Valuation of human resources in organization

This study was conducted to develop an analysis framework to link the human capital costs to the results of long-term interests or profits for providing a model for representing human capital on the balance sheet. This framework introduced various types of accounting methods for human capital performance-related payments. This paper represented a set of expenses which are controlled by organizations and some of economic benefits of these costs that occur in different time periods for investment. In addition, there were also some costs that did not provide long-term benefits or were less productive that should be taken into account. Finally, this study tried to represent the amortization of the human capital as an asset on the balance sheet by applying mathematical models.                                                                                                     

Contracting services with medical doctors as a form of employment and remuneration – the polish experience

Contracting medical services is becoming a more and more popular form of remuneration of doctors. The principles of rewarding defined in civil contracts in Poland are similar in both public and non-public entities that depend on the kind of contract concluded. The main aim of the research was carrying out an evaluation of the advantages and dangers related to civil contracts as a form of employment and remuneration of doctors in medical health care units. Detailed aims included the identification of the types of remunerations for doctors and defining the determinants of the remunerations of the doctors on civil contracts against the background of the analogical employees. The managers of health care units participated in the study. The research was conducted in two stages. At the first stage, the questionnaire survey method was applied and since the readiness of health care entities in Poland to participate in this kind of research is systematically declining, the number of questionnaires obtained in 2014 was far from satisfactory; so, the method of expert interview came into use. The reform of the healthcare system in Poland was the reason of the necessity of looking at labor costs more carefully. This led to the process of increasing the flexibility of employment in different forms of contracting health services with doctors.

An overview of the social functions of gossip in the hospitals

This article deals with the functions of gossip in society and institutional environments. According to available literature, the functions of gossip in society can be divided in to four major areas including information, entertainment, friendship or intimacy, and penetration. Among organizational employees such as hospital nurses, gossiping has positive and negative results at both the individual and organizational levels. Thus, nurses can reduce their stress and anxiety at their workplace through involving in environmental gossip. Meanwhile, uncontrolled or negative gossip can be harmful for organizational interests.

Knowledge sharing: The key factors in the success of knowledge management system in the organizational health of the employees working in the public universities of Tehran

The purpose of this study is to predict the knowledge sharing behavior in the organizational health of public universities in Tehran. The population included employees of Shahid Beheshti, Tarbiat Modarres, Amir Kabir, and Kharazmi universities located in Tehran. For this purpose, a sample size of 320 of employees based on Morgan’s table was selected through proportional stratified random sampling and responded to the organizational health and knowledge sharing questionnaire. Research method is quantitative and descriptive and correlational in terms of data collection and objective. In order to analyze the obtained data, statistical methods of regression, correlation coefficient, multivariate data analysis, and measurement tools of SPSS, PLS were used. The results showed that, the observed r at the level of p <0.05 indicated a significant positive correlation between knowledge sharing and organizational health of the public universities’ employees in Tehran. This study supports the idea that knowledge sharing and its dimensions as a strong predictor largely influences organizational health.

The effect of psychological empowerment on the productivity of nurses in private hospitals of Bandar Abbas

Nowadays, empowerment is considered as a useful tool for employees’ qualitative enhancement or growth and as one of basic factors in increasing employees’ productivity. This descriptive study aimed to investigate the effect of psychological empowerment on nurses’ productivity in private hospitals of Bandar Abbas. The statistical population of this research included 508 nurses of private hospitals in Bandar Abbas, which finally 217 of those nurses were selected as statistical sample through using stratified random sampling and Cochran’s sample size formula. To collect data, two validated questionnaires including Spreitzer Standard Questionnaire (1995) and Hersey-Goldsmith Questionnaire (1980) were used to measure psychological empowerment and productivity, respectively. The results revealed that there is a significant positive correlation between competency, confidence, impact, and autonomy and nurses’ productivity and there is a reversed significant relationship between significance and productivity.

Innovation in public healthcare systems: Do we really understand its potential

This paper explores the concept of innovation and evaluates its relevance to public healthcare services. A comprehensive review of innovation in public healthcare systems was done to identify a source of analysis or commentary. This was done with the intention of exploring important considerations in relation to the progress of innovation within public health services. There are a number of factors in the public healthcare systems that need some tough challenges in implementing innovation; however, the environment is ripe for public health services to implement innovation. Various considerations and strategies for enabling public healthcare organizations and implementing innovation were identified.
